  targeting in order to distract them.

Dialogue

Sgt. Dawn Frasier

We assumed Kaminsky's coddled little scientists
were crying wolf again. They're so concerned with
the Shoggoth they can't even raise arms against
them. Their sympathy has robbed them of their
ferocity and left them with nothing but fear.

Those things don't even seem to want to fight,
half the time they seem to be trying to flee before
they even engage.

Well it sounds like they're crying wolf again. One
of trip's loons is quacking on about some
equipment he dropped fleeing Cave 1.

Claims that he was being pursued by another one
of those things. he's babbling about how the
equipment is the key to deciphering some old
archive they've recovered.

Says it's our "soul's salvation'.

Take this fool Andy's errand off my hands and it'll
be the last I ask of you for now.

Head back to the sighting of the ritual and shoot some Shoggoth.
Return to Sgt. Dawn Frasier when done.
